Submersible Flat Cable Manufacturers

Anyone who's installed a three-phase submersible pump knows why the flat cable exists in the first place — round cable is simply too bulky to fit through the narrow gap between the pump body and the borewell casing. Radilite, manufactured by Ambica Cables, has built its submersible flat cable range specifically around that constraint, bonding three cores into a low-profile format that installers across India rely on for borewells, drinking water schemes, mine dewatering, and industrial pumping applications. It's built to resist abrasion, water, moisture, grease, and oil across years of continuous underground use.

The flat profile isn't just a cosmetic difference from round submersible wire — it changes how carefully the cable has to be engineered. Bonding three cores into a flat, ribbon-like shape has to hold up under years of flexing and continuous water exposure without the cores delaminating from each other, while still meeting the same copper purity and current-carrying requirements as any other submersible cable. We build our Submersible Flat Cable to that standard rather than treating the flat shape as a shortcut.

These cables are made for direct connection to submersible pump motors, using non-toxic, fire-resistant PVC insulation over electrolytic grade copper conductors. The PVC sheath is formulated specifically to resist water penetration over years of submerged use, which is the difference between a cable that performs reliably for a decade and one that starts leaking current within its first season.

Why Choose Us for Submersible Flat Cable

As one of the established submersible flat cable manufacturers in India, we know exactly what conditions this cable has to survive. The clearance between a pump body and the casing wall is narrow, so the cable has to be genuinely flat, not just thinner than average. The environment it sits in is hostile — constant water, grit, and occasional oil exposure near industrial installations — and it has to keep working through years of installation, servicing, and reinstallation without the core bonding failing. We shape our flat cable specifically around that reality.

Our conductors use 99.95% pure bare copper, which keeps resistance low and current delivery consistent even on longer borewell runs. We supply in bundles and 100-metre lengths, in sizes from 1.0 sq. mm to 25 sq. mm, which covers the great majority of domestic and agricultural three-phase submersible motor loads. For larger industrial motor loads beyond that range, our submersible pump cable range extends further, and for single-phase or round-wire installations, see our submersible electrical wire range.

Our production team monitors raw material quality and process consistency closely, from copper drawing through core bonding and insulation extrusion, using bright annealed pure bare copper and a submersible-grade PVC compound throughout. If you need a flat cable that will genuinely hold up underground for years rather than just pass an installation-day check, get in touch and we'll help size the right cable for your pump.

One thing worth keeping in mind when you're comparing flat cable options: the price difference between a properly bonded, correctly insulated cable and a cheaper alternative is almost always smaller than the cost of pulling a failed cable back out of a borewell to replace it. A submersible flat cable failure rarely announces itself in advance — there's no fraying to spot, no early warning sign, because the whole assembly is sitting underground and underwater. The first sign is usually the pump tripping out or simply not starting, and by then the only way to diagnose it is to pull the entire assembly out, which for a deep agricultural borewell can be a half-day job on its own. We'd rather build in that margin from the start than have a customer discover the gap the hard way.

We formulate our own PVC compounds in-house from carefully selected ingredients rather than using a generic mix, which gives our submersible flat cable genuinely strong heat-resistant properties alongside the tensile strength needed to survive the flexing and core-bonding stress that comes with a flat cable profile over years of underground use.

Our cables carry strong insulation resistance and volume resistivity, which keeps current flowing where it's supposed to instead of leaking through degraded insulation into the surrounding water. That property also supports genuine oil resistance, which matters near agricultural pump houses and industrial sumps where minor oil contamination in the water is common.

For added protection, our double-insulated constructions use a primary layer of virgin-grade PVC coated with a secondary, skin-coloured PVC layer. It's a small extra step in manufacturing, but it gives the cable real margin against the abrasion and mechanical stress that comes with years of submersible use.
